HC Deb 09 November 1967 vol 753 cc156-7W
Dame Joan Vickers

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many Service families returning from abroad from Aden and elsewhere have been rehoused; how many are on the waiting list or in temporary accommodation; and what is the total cost.

Mr. Reynolds

All the families who have returned from Aden have been rehoused in service accommodation, except for some 200 Army families who are awaiting the husbands' return to his country.

Details are not readily available for R.N. and R.A.F. families returning from the Far East, because they are dispersed individually through units to stations; but all the Army families who have returned from this theatre have been rehoused.

As far as total cost is concerned, I would refer the hon. Lady to the figures I gave in the House on 5th May.—[Vol. 746, c. 963–4.]
