asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs if he will take additional measures to reduce the economic dependence of Swaziland on the Republic of South Africa before that Protectorate is granted independence.

Within the limits of available resources everything possible is being done to encourage the economic independence of Swaziland but her geographical position makes close economic ties with the Republic of South Africa inevitable.
