HC Deb 04 May 1967 vol 746 cc95-6W
9. Mr. Goodhew

asked the Minister of Overseas Development when he expects to have talks with the Government of Ghana about future levels of aid to that country; and what sum he estimates will be paid in the financial year 1967–68.

Mr. Bottomley

I would refer the hon. Gentleman to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Dorking (Sir G. Sinclair) on 19th April.

I hope that it will be possible to have discussions with the Government of Ghana in the near future, to settle the amount and terms of our financial aid for 1967.—[Vol. 745, c. 115.]

Mr. Tilney

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what offer was made by Great Britain at the recent meeting in Paris under the aegis of the International Monetary Fund, of those countries concerned with Ghana's current balance of payment.

Mr. Bottomley

I would refer the hon. Gentleman to the Answer I gave today to the hon. Member for St. Albans (Mr. Goodhew).
