HC Deb 04 May 1967 vol 746 c96W
26. Mr. Henry Clark

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what percentage of his Department's total expenditure in 1966 was spent on research into the basic economic problems of development; and whether this percentage will increase in the current year.

Mr. Bottomley

Research into problems affecting economic development commanded 1.1 per cent. of total expenditure in 1966. The best estimates at present available suggest that there may be a small percentage increase this year.
