§ Mr. Woofasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what assistance and encouragement has been offered to the sport of angling by the Government and the Sports Council.
§ Mr. Denis HowellThe formation of a National Anglers Council has been encouraged, and grant for its administrative expenses is under discussion. Grants have been made to local angling associations towards the purchase of fishing rights, and to national angling bodies towards the cost of sending competitors to international events overseas. The World Angling Championships and an International Angling conference in Britain have been grant-aided.
