HC Deb 09 March 1967 vol 742 cc336-7W
Mr. Lubbock

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations he has received from staff of the Medical Research Council about their superannuation arrangements; and if he will take steps to ensure that all research councils have the same terms and conditions of employment.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

Representations on this subject were made last year by the hon. Member for Abingdon (Mr. Neave) on behalf of certain Medical Research Council staff. Conditions of service among the Research Councils are already broadly similar in several respects, but in view of their differing functions and the wide variety of staff they employ, it would be neither desirable nor practicable to aim at complete uniformity.
