21. Mr. Body

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is satisfied with the facilities available for sending offenders between the ages of 14 and 17 years in the County of Holland to a detention centre; and whether he will make a statement.

These facilities are at present available only to the higher courts with jurisdiction in the county. I am planning to provide 850 additional detention centre places in the next few years, and will have in mind the needs of the county in deciding upon the areas and age groups to be served by this new accommodation.
