§ Mrs. CastleFive, during which I have discussed with them, amongst other things, how transport can best be coordinated and integrated within their regions. The regional councils are advisory and not executive bodies, but as a result of these discussions I have recently set up, with their co-operation, regional passenger transport committees to secure better co-ordination of passenger services. These committees will take account of the results of the pilot studies which have been undertaken by the councils, at my request, into various aspects of the co-ordination of public transport.
