§ Mr. Pardoeasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will state for the latest year for which figures are available the number of gallons of liquid milk accounted for by free school milk, and the farm-gate value of this to British farmers; what proportion this represents of total milk production in the United Kingdom; what proportion this represents of milk sold for liquid consumption; and what proportion the farm-gate value of this is of the total farm-gate value of all milk produced by British farmers.
§ Mr. HoyDuring the calendar year 1966 free school milk in the United Kingdom accounted for 56 million gallons of milk with a farm-gate value of £9 million; this represented about 2¼ per cent. of the quantity and farm-gate value of total milk production, and about 3½ per cent. of milk sold for liquid consumption.
