HC Deb 24 July 1967 vol 751 c42W
Mr. Edward M. Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what total annual contribution has been made by the electricity boards in Scotland in lieu of rates in each of the past six years; and what estimate he has made of the amount which will be paid in the current year.

Mr. Ross

Payments made by the electricity boards in lieu of rates are given in the table below. The estimates for 1967–68 are based on the assumption that the House will approve the Electricity Boards (Standard Amount) (Scotland) Order, 1967.

In respect of the year:

£64,000. The main work is expected to start in September, and the scheme should take about 18 months to complete.
