Mr. Kimballasked the Minister of Transport what study she has made of the transport section of the First Annual Report of the Humberside and South Yorkshire Regional Development Board; and, in view of the fact that new trunk routes were announced by her predecessor in September, 1965, what is the reason for the delay in deciding on the line of the new motorways.

The delay in deciding on the line of the new motorways has been due to the 270W need to consider alternative proposals; in this connection I refer the hon. Gentleman to the Answer I have given today to the hon. Member for Haltemprice (Mr. Wall).
