HC Deb 27 February 1967 vol 742 c13W
81. Mr. Luard

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what action he proposes to take to secure a moratorium on the construction of anti-ballistic defence systems.

Mr. Mulley

As my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary explained in Answer to a Question by the hon. Member on 7th February, we should very much like to see the United States and the Soviet Union move towards an understanding on this question. The United States and the Soviet Union are the only two countries able to deploy anti-ballistic missiles and President Johnson is initiating discussions on this subject with the Russians.— [Vol. 740, c.277.]
