asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) what percentage of farms in England are owner-occupied;

(2) what percentage of farms are owner-occupied in Wales.

The latest available information relates to 1961 when the proportion of all agricultural holdings which were wholly owned by the occupiers was 47 per cent. in England and 51 per cent. in Wales. In addition, 16 per cent. of all holdings in England and 11 per cent. of all holdings in Wales were mainly or partly owned by the occupier.
