HC Deb 15 February 1967 vol 741 cc117-8W
Sir Ronald Russell

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state the total budget of the General Agreement

Mr. J. P. W. Mallalieu

Such investigations are primarily a matter for airline operators. With the assistance of the Scottish Office and the Board of Trade a study was made in 1965 and 1966 by the Highland Transport Board of the most suitable type of light fixed wing aircraft for a service to the Northern Isles of Orkney. As a result of this study an air service is to be introduced later this year using the Britten Norman Islander. Comparable helicopter operations would be substantially more costly.
