asked the Minister of Transport if she has made a survey of the number of households with cars in Scotland; and how this compares with any previous survey.

Yes. Results from the National Travel Survey available later this year will afford an estimate for 1965. An estimate derived from the Family Expenditure Survey puts the number in 1964 at some 500,000, about 31 per cent. of the total.
