HC Deb 14 February 1967 vol 741 c77W
Mr. Barnett

asked the Minister of Labour if he is aware of the closure of a textile mill in Royton in which 300 employees have been made redundant; if he will take action to help; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Fernyhough

The employment exchanges are already dealing with the forthcoming redundancy at the Royton Textile Corporations Mill and will do their best to find other jobs for the 82 men and 199 women affected. Dismissals are to be phased over a period of six to ten weeks starting on 10th March.
