HC Deb 14 February 1967 vol 741 c64W
Mr. Kershaw

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many Regular Army officers have been commissioned from Sandhurst in each of the last 10 years; how many of each year's output have since applied to retire or resign their commissions; and how many of these have had their applications accepted.

Mr. Boyden

The number of Regular Army officers commissioned in each of the last ten years is as follows:

1957 300
1958 375
1959 290
1960 271
1961 358
1962 380
1963 422
1964 364
1965 427
1966 416
3,603

I regret that records are not kept in a form which would permit the remainder of this Question to be answered without a disproportionate amount of research.
