HC Deb 14 February 1967 vol 741 c74W
Mr. Fisher

asked the Minister of Health how many people are now awaiting hospital vacancies for National Health Service operations.

Mr. K. Robinson

This information is not available. Waiting lists for in-patient treatment in the surgical specialities (including gynaecology) total about 488,000 patients but not all are necessarily awaiting even minor operations. Patients who need urgent operations are of course given priority.
