§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the estimated increase in cost which British farmers will have to bear in respect of animal feeding stuffs in the event of Great Britain entering the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. PeartThis would depend on the agricultural arrangements agreed for an enlarged Community. If we were to accept the common agricultural policy as it stands, and if the prices agreed for the present Community remained unchanged, the high prices for cereals would greatly increase prices of animal feeding-stuffs. It is not however possible to give a precise estimate of the increase in cost to British farmers.
