§ Mr. Eadieasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food with regard to the 24 complaints made to his Department about overcharging in restaurants in Scotland since the measures of 20th July were introduced, what measure of co-operation his Department obtained from the proprietors; and how many reduced their prices as a consequence of his intervention.
§ Mr. HoyI have found restaurant proprietors fully prepared to co-operate in providing information about their extra costs, including the cost of the Selective Employment Tax.
Although in some cases my inquiries are not yet complete, I have not so far found any of the price increases to be contrary to the Government's prices and incomes policy.
