§ Mr. Gurdenasked the Minister of Health (1) what are the numbers of patients on the waiting list of Moseley 500W Hall Hospital for ear, nose or throat operations; and what additional accommodation has already been provided to reduce the excessive waiting time upon the closing of Moseley Hall Hospital;
(2) what provision he has made for the treatment of urgent ear, nose and throat patients upon the closing of Moseley Hall Hospital.
§ Mr. K. Robinson:Two hundred and fifty-six, who have been transferred to Selly Oak Hospital waiting list; none. Patients who require urgent treatment will receive it at other Birmingham hospitals, where there is sufficient accommodation for ear, nose and throat patients though shortage of theatre and other staff has prevented it from being used to full capacity.
Moseley Hall Hospital is not closing but being developed as a geriatric hospital.
