HC Deb 21 December 1967 vol 756 c479W
44. Sir C. Osborne

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many children of immigrants under 16 years of age have been admitted in the last 12 months; and what check is made to certify they are genuine immigrant dependants and not children of people still overseas.

Mr. Ennals:

In the 12 months up to 31st October, 34,446 children under 16 were admitted, most of them coming with parents or to join parents already here. In every case the immigration officer will have satisfied himself that the child was entitled to be admitted.
