Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will establish a working group to estimate the amount of fines imposed by the Scottish courts, the amount which is paid promptly, and the number of fines which remain outstanding; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Ross:The preparation of such an estimate would involve additional work for the courts, and I do not think that it would assist them in ensuring the appropriate enforcement of the individaul fine.
