Mr. Biffen

asked the Minister of Labour by what percentage amount are rates and earnings expected to rise as a result of the recent settlement concluded between the Skefko Ball Bearing Company and its skilled employees.

Mr. Hattersley:

Between 4.5 and 5 per cent. This increase has been justified under the productivity criterion in paragraph 22 of the March White Paper (Cmnd. 3235).
