HC Deb 14 December 1967 vol 756 c227W
Q14. Mr. Hooley

asked the Prime Minister if, following the decision of the Council of Ministers of the European Economic Community on 18th December on the British application for entry, he will at an early date invite the Finance Ministers of all the European Free Trade Association and Commonwealth countries to a special conference in London to examine the consequences of the decision.

The Prime Minister:

We have said repeatedly that we shall maintain close consultation with both our European Free Trade Association and our Commonwealth friends. How we fulfil this undertaking will depend amongst other things on the reply we receive from the Council of Ministers to our application.
