asked the Minister of Social Security how many sick and unemployed persons in receipt of supplementary allowances were affected by the wage stop at the latest date for which figures are available; and how many children there were in the families of such persons.

At the end of November there were 32,360 claimants whose Supplementary Allowances were affected by the wage stop, of whom 2,640 were temporarily sick and 29,720 were unemployed. The number of children involved was approximately 95,000.
