All these boards raised levy as a percentage of total emoluments, except the Iron and Steel Industry Training Board, which levied a fixed sum per employee.
§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Minister of Labour which proposed industrial training boards have not yet been established; when he expects to establish them; and if he will give an estimate of the numbers of people affected by each future board.
§ Mr. GunterMy current programme includes boards for the following industries: printing and publishing (covering about 400,000 employees); paper and paper products (about 250,000); distributive (about 2,500,000); food, drink and tobacco (about 1,300,000); footwear, leather and allied products (about 180,000). I expect to establish these five boards during 1968.
§ Mr. Richard Wainwrightasked the Minister of Labour how many applications have been received, up to November, 1967, by the Engineering Industry 15W Training Board for grants towards the initial and/or running costs of machinery; and how many such applications remain unsettled at the present time.
