HC Deb 11 December 1967 vol 756 cc37-8W
Mr. Prior

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will introduce legislation to extend the making of improvement grants to houses completed after 1945, in view of the fact that there are some houses built after this period which lack modern conveniences.

Mr. Greenwood

Owners have a right to grant for the provision of basic amenities in houses built before 1945, but local authorities may at their discretion make improvement grants for houses of any age. The Question whether this should be changed is being examined in the re-view of legislation affecting our older housing stock.
