§ Mr. Russell Johnstonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the demand for married accommodation for resident medical staff in Scotland; whether he will quantify this demand geographically; and what action he is taking to meet it.
§ Mr. RossThe demand for married accommodation for resident medical staff is essentially local, fluctuates from time to time and cannot be readily quantified. A Scottish Hospital Memorandum was issued to boards in 1961 giving guidance as to the action they might appropriately take to meet the conditions in their areas; and that guidance has been further elaborated in Scottish Hospital Memorandum 59W 75/1967 which was issued last Friday. I am sending the hon. Member a copy.
