HC Deb 11 December 1967 vol 756 cc58-9W
Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the demand for married accommodation for resident medical staff in Scotland; whether he will quantify this demand geographically; and what action he is taking to meet it.

Mr. Ross

The demand for married accommodation for resident medical staff is essentially local, fluctuates from time to time and cannot be readily quantified. A Scottish Hospital Memorandum was issued to boards in 1961 giving guidance as to the action they might appropriately take to meet the conditions in their areas; and that guidance has been further elaborated in Scottish Hospital Memorandum 75/1967 which was issued last Friday. I am sending the hon. Member a copy.
