§ Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what recent progress has been made, following the assurances he received at the end of October, towards the release of the British aircraft detained in Algeria by the Algerian Government.

The Algerian authorities have however confirmed that there is no objection in principle to the release of the aircraft and again assured us that they hope to arrange for this in the near future. We shall continue to stress that the detention of the aircraft is unjustified and to press for its release.
