asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what investigations have been made into

independent schools, independent schools recognised as efficient, registered independent schools, and public schools, respectively; and if he will state the corresponding percentage figures for 1955 and 1960 or the nearest convenient date in each case.

The following table shows the numbers of pupils and boarders in various types of school in January, 1966 together with such information as is available for 1960 and 1955.

Many investigations have been made over a number of years at centres in this country and abroad into the cause of arterio-sclerosis and diabetes. There is no evidence of a causal relationship between these conditions and malnutrition.
