§ Mr. Onslowasked the Minister of Health what increase or decrease there has been in the staff of his Department since 16th October, 1964; and what increase or decrease he anticipates in the period up to 15th October, 1967.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonAn increase of 679 from October, 1964 to April, 1967. Some further increase is expected during the period to October, 1967 but I am not yet able to give a reliable estimate. The additional staff are needed to cope with the extra work arising from the continuing expansion of the health and welfare services, and the development of methods and techniques in those services to increase efficiency, improve quality, and to get better value for the money spent.
