HC Deb 12 April 1967 vol 744 c194W
68. Mr. George Jeger

asked the Minister of Transport whether plans are now available showing in detail the line of the M62 from Ferrybridge to the River Ouse; and when it is expected to commence work on this road.

Mr. Swingler

No. This road was in the recently announced list of schemes on which preparatory work is to go ahead with a view to subsequent inclusion in the road programme. It is too early yet to say when construction is likely to begin.

Mr. Lomas

asked the Minister of Transport if she will make a statement on the provision of access points from Huddersfield to the proposed new section of the M62.

(2) how many houses and other buildings will be affected by the provision of access points to the proposed new extension to the M62 as far as it affects Huddersfield.

Mr. Swingler

We envisage providing a junction with A640 at Outlane for Lancashire traffic and full interchanges with A629 at Ainley Top and with A644 at Clifton. The effect of these junctions on property cannot at present be indicated. The improvement of New Hey Road (A640) will affect 17 dwelling houses, 3 shops and a barn.
