Mr. Mackintosh

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the total cost on average of educating a young man or woman at a local authority school to the age of 18 years and then the average cost of training such a man or woman in one of the medical schools of the country up to the time of full qualification as a doctor, assuming that no examinations are failed but that there is normal progress through the training.
