Mrs. McKay

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what initiatives he will take to increase understanding of Her Majesty's Government's policies to strengthen the bilateral relations between Her Majesty's Government and the Governments of the Arab States.

Mr. Padley

It is the constant task of Departments of Her Majesty's Government, and of Her Majesty's Missions in the area, to seek to explain and further Her Majesty's Government's policies. These are directed towards achieving good relations with all States in the Middle East, whatever their political complexion or their social system. Her Majesty's Government are particularly anxious to see the expansion of trade and cultural relations with the area.
