asked the Secretary of State for Defence what proposals he has for the reorganisation of his Department on functional lines.

Mr. Healey

As explained in Chapter III of Command 2902, the organisation of the Ministry is evolving and being modified by experience. Further changes may follow from the Report of the Committee to which reference was made in that Chapter. But the nature and timing of these must be carefully planned if the performance of the Department is not to be prejudiced.
