§ Q15. Mr. Shinwellasked the Prime Minister what plans he has for bringing hon. Members in the North-East into closer association with the regional council in that area.
§ The Prime MinisterI understand that the Chairman of the Northern Economic Planning Council will shortly be inviting Members with constituencies in the region to meet the Council; and my right hon. Friend the First Secretary of State is always ready to discuss with hon. Members and with the Council any points concerning the development of the region. I would also refer my right hon. Friend to the proposals about Regional Committees of this House which I mentioned during our debate on 21st April.
