HC Deb 04 May 1966 vol 727 cc125-6W
100. Mr. Brewis

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether the official inquiry into transport needs in Galloway will include co-ordination of bus, train and steamer timings.

Mr. Ross

The primary aim of the pilot study which I announced after the last meeting of the Scottish Economic Planning Council is to investigate the problems of co-ordinating adequate and economic transport services, with particular reference to freight and parcels, within the rural area west of Dumfries. This will necessarily involve at the appropriate stage a study of the co-ordination of timing of services.
