HC Deb 04 May 1966 vol 727 cc109-10W
68. Mr. Monro

asked the Minister of Transport what progress is being made towards the co-ordination of public transport services in Scotland.

Mrs. Barbara Castle

The proposals for the co-ordination of transport I intend to bring before the House will of course apply to Scotland. Meanwhile the Scottish Economic Planning Council, under the Chairmanship of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State, are ex- amining a number of Scottish transport questions, including the possible scope for greater co-ordination of certain rural services on the basis of a pilot study which they are undertaking of the transport needs of Galloway.
