HC Deb 04 May 1966 vol 727 c111W
53. Mr. G. Campbell

asked the Minister of Transport if she will make a statement on the future of the railway lines from Inverness to Wick and Kyle of Lochalsh, in view of the description of them, in paragraph 293 of the White Paper on the Scottish Economy, as extensions existing at least for the immediate future.

Mr. John Morris

There are no proposals before us at present affecting the future of these lines, but my right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Minister of Transport will be taking special account of any recommendations that the Highland Transport Board may put forward in their studies of the transport needs of the Highlands and Islands.
