HC Deb 04 May 1966 vol 727 c123W
98. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress has been made under his authority with his plans for refresher courses to encourage married women doctors to return to practice.

Mr. Ross

I have just sent executive councils, for transmission to all general practitioners, particulars of arrangements for providing refresher training for doctors who wish to enter or re-enter general practice after a period of absence, and of the financial assistance available for this purpose. Information about these arrangements has also been sent to women doctors in Scotland not at present engaged in medical work.
