§ 13. Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will explain the circumstances in which a Persian national, Mr. Moghaddam, married to a British citizen, was arrested on his warrant on 7th February, 1966, and deported the following day without prior notice being given of the failure of his appeal to either Mr. Moghaddam or his solicitor.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsThe deportation order in this case was made with the concurrence of the Chief Metropolitan Magis-strate. Mr. Moghaddam was taken into custody on 7th February, and left the country on 9th February after I had reconsidered his deportation at the urgent request of my hon. Friend.
