HC Deb 09 March 1966 vol 725 c567W
Mr. Boston

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what new arrangements will be introduced this summer for the Customs examination of arriving travellers.

Mr. Callaghan

Yes. I have approved a number of changes, with the aim of speeding up Customs examination for both overseas visitors and British residents. They affect both the duty allowances extended to travellers and the practical organisation of the movement of travellers through the Customs. Details will be announced by the Customs within about 10 days, in good time for Easter.
