§ 92. Dame Irene Wardasked the Minister of Transport whether financial approval has yet been given to the two local authorities still involved in the Northumberland coast road project; when it was applied for; and when the Tynemouth portion was completed.
§ Mr. SwinglerFinancial approval was given to Newcastle County Borough Council in March, 1965.
Following redesign of the scheme, an application for the Northumberland section was submitted in December, 1964, and a further revised application in December, 1965. Northumberland County Council have now been given financial approval.
The Tynemouth section of the road was opened to traffic in December, 1964.
