§ Sir J. Edenasked the Minister of Aviation whether he is aware of the demand for air services in the Bournemouth region; and if he will make a statement about the progress of his negotiations with a consortium of local authorities concerning the future of Hurn Airport.
§ Mr. MulleyI am aware of the demand but whether it is sufficient to support air services from Bournemouth is primarily a matter for the commercial judgment of the airlines. The consortium of local authorities has recently made an offer to purchase Hurn Airport as a going concern and I am considering this offer.
