HC Deb 29 June 1966 vol 730 cc296-7W
Earl of Dalkeith

asked the Postmaster-General (1) whether he will issue a special postage stamp in 1967 to commemorate the bicentenary of the founding of the new town of Edinburgh, in view of its merit as a world-famous example of town planning;

(2) whether he will issue a special commemorative postage stamp in 1967 to mark the coming of age of Edinburgh's International Festival of Music and Drama, and thereby give public recognition to the contribution which Edinburgh has made to the cultural wealth of the nation.

Mr. Benn

I am grateful for these suggestions and will bear them in mind when choosing the subjects for my 1967 stamp programme.
