HC Deb 21 June 1966 vol 730 c29W
50. Mr. Peyton

asked the Minister of Power if he is satisfied with the supplies of smokeless fuel, and, in particular, the new fuels developed by the National Coal Board; and if he will make a statement.

Dr. Bray

Supplies of smokeless fuel are in total more than adequate.

The National Coal Board has constructed plants at Cardiff, Coventry and Markham Main for the production of new smokeless fuels. I understand the Cardiff plant has been very successful and the Board has decided to extend it, but at the other two engineering difficulties are delaying production.
