§ Mr. Rankinasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in view of the recommendation of the National Board for Prices and Incomes, he will introduce legislation for new negotiating machinery in respect of Scottish teachers' salaries so as to make possible the appointment of the same chairman to the two arbitral bodies in Scotland and England; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
§ Mr. RossI cannot anticipate the details of the legislation, which will depend on consultations yet to be undertaken with local authority and teachers' 281W associations. I shall, however, carefully consider this recommendation by the Board.
