Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is aware of recently announced increases in the prices of bacon, sausages and other foodstuffs; and what steps he intends to take to prevent this, in view of Her Majesty's Government's declared policies.

Yes. I am keeping a close watch on all food prices.

I would ask my hon. Friend to await the publication shortly of the White Paper to which my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister referred in his statement of 20th July.
