asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he proposes to seek powers to prevent newspapers exploiting sensational confessions after court cases where a verdict of not proven or not guilty has been given.

My right hon. Friend is always reluctant to interfere with the freedom of the Press however deplorable the results of this freedom may sometimes be.
